 These days, lots of universities and companies are dealing with 'Humanities'. We can find them in lectures and books. When we check bestsellers in bookstores, books about humanities are always in top. Then why is humanity a rising issue these days? There are three reasons I think why people are crazed for humanity these days.

 

  First, as technology increases slowly the world wants innovators, not inventors. For example, what we use these days, almost everything was invented about a hundred years ago except computer and phones. Car, plane, LED lights and what we use often have been invented a long time ago. These days, these things are just changing or developing. Inventing things stopped. Our phones, computer and car are just developing with just little functions. So, to develop new functions and make difference with other previous ones, innovators are necessary. To think different, humanities are important qualification.

 

  Next, these days most people work in service part, which means understanding other's mind is improtant. Most people are working and as time goes on. more people will work in service part. It means that we need more contact with others and what we should do is understanding their mind and fulfill their desire. So, to understand them, humanity is a way to understand them. I think this is why large companies are stressing with humanity books and lectures.

 

  Finally, companies wants us to study humanity because consumption today needs a storytelling, which is a image consumption. For instance, advertisement these days, they don't talk about their product's functions and strong points anymore. It's hard to find that kind of advertisement. Instead, companies and advertisements today, they are telling us about their values and what kind of company they are. For example, Hyundai's slogan is 'New thinking, New possibility'. They make advertisements about new possibilities. Their product doesn't appear in advertisements. If we just watch advertisement, we won't know what are they advertising. By this way, companies get consumer's trust or confidence which leads to consumption.

 

In conclusion, why people are crazed in humanity these days, I think it is related with changing age. Technology made us to innovate, not invent. Working in service part made us to understand others. Consumers wants companies to show their value. Therefore, to adapt and lead the way, humanity is a important study to be learned.

Development of  technology has affected a lot of entertainment area aroud the world. People can explore cyber-space and people have been more interested in it  as days go by. Computer game is one of the entertainment in cyber-space. Game industry called E-sports has developed radically and it has attracted many people by its own ways. Then, what  makes people be attracted to game? People play computer games for various reasons : exitemenent, social life, or money.

 

First, many people enjoy playing games just for fun. It is main purpose for many people and fundamental reason for games. Releasing stress is one of the benefits that excitement from game gives us. People can experience what  they can not do in real world in games. It  makes people feel thrilled or excited. In this process, stress can be relieved. Also, game often makes time go fast. We can just kill the time by playing game. It helps us spend time for cheap price when people are bored. 

 

Another reason for playing games is to make new relationship. Especailly for Korean men, it is one of the best way to be familiar with others. In research from KOCCA(Korean Creative Content  Agency), the average number of visiting Internet cafe in 2010 is 6 days per month. And about 80% of people who visit  Internet cafe, playing games is main reasons for it. It show that many people enjoy games and it can help people make familiar through sharing same hobby. Also, they can make new friends easily in games. Game is the great environment  to make new friends. Sometimes, on-line friends can be closer than off-line friends.

 

Finally, for some people, earning money can be a sufficient  reason to play games. In Internet  broadcast  system such as Afreea TV, Twitch TV, playing games is one of the most popular contents. 'BJ'(people who perform internet  broadcast  system) can earn money by audience's support or advertisement for sponsor. For example, in Afreeca TV, 'star balloon' is the coin which cost 100 won for each balloon. The amount  of  balloon audience gave is tremendous. Royjo, one of  the game 'BJ' in Afreeca TV, make 50 million won in a month. Another way to make money by game is to participate in contest. It might  seem to be for professional game players, but  there are many small open competition for ordinary people. Internet cafe game contest is good example for it.

 

To sum up, people have different reasons for playing games. For many of them, seeking for amusement is the most  common reason for it. However, social relationship can be one of  the main reasons for game. Others play games for financial reason. According to these reasons, It is not right attitude to blame every single people just for playing games. These 'witch - hunting' can be harmful to our society and Game-entertainment industry.

Dark Side of Social Media

 

   These days, so many people use social media. Thanks to it, people can communicate with someone on the other side of the world. Distance is no longer a factor that makes them lose contact with friends who study abroad or emigrate to other countries. However, there are also some problems of social media: users easily becoming addicted, irreversible uploaded contents, and possibility of being misused as a means of crime.

   First, it is easy to become addicted to social media. Social media allows real-time communication among anyone who uses it. Due to that characteristic, time goes so fast when people contact each other using social media. Also, it contains various contents. Sometimes, some include highly provocative contents, and a number of people are attracted by those. Thus, if one fails to control the time spent on using social media, then too much time is wasted.

   Another problem is that once the content is uploaded on social media, it is irreversible. Because of the biggest feature of social media, 'real-time communication', anything can be spread so fast since people can share it at any time. So, it is very hard to correct wrongly spread information. Usually, public opinion is formed based on gossips through social media and it leads to a severe witch-hunting.

   Finally, the possibility of social media being misused as a means of crime is the last problem. People can always be noticed what others are doing through their social media, and it is a big problem in some respects. For example, burglaries can be committed when people go on a trip. To be specific, as soon as they upload any pictures that allow others to know that their houses are vacated, some might think it is the perfect time to commit a burglary. Also, some people can suffer from stalking because anyone can get information about what they are doing in real time by searching for that person's social media. Sometimes this leads to an invasion of privacy.

   To wrap up, social media has several disadvantages. For users, it is easy to be hooked on social media. Also, the contents that are uploaded on social media are very hard to correct or erase. In addition, it can be wrongfully used as a means of crime. Social media is a double-edged sword. It has many useful functions, but there are also problems. Therefore, it is important to acknowledge the dark side of social media and use it wisely.

 A couple of years ago there was a telecom ad in which a baby is crying during a train travel while their parents embarrassed knowing not what to do. Suddenly a gentle man show an animation, pororo as proud as peacock then the baby quit crying and watch it pleasedly. Watching animations is fun and for parents, showing animations is convenient. Some may argue showing animation to children decrease valuable playing time between parents and children and watching animations is time wasting activity for not only babies but also young adults. However, watching animations is good because it is fun, educational and intellectual.

 Above all, animations provide with fun. They have refined proceedings, distinct characters and amazing twists. they are no less impressive than written literatures. Animation watchers can have fun from not only animation stories and characters but also drawings. From wide view, they take use of various arts of drawings. There are own impressions and strength depending on drawing types of animations such as computer graphic, silhouette, clay and hand drawing. From narrow view point, animations generate pleasure by their fantastic scenes such as fighting scenes, beautiful scenes and others that is hard to produce in real filming. Animation fans can enjoy animations in other fields dealing with them such as games, movie versions, figures and clothes. Fans are able to enjoy them by even wearing the same clothes and accessaries as animation character's.

 That some animations are educational is another reason watching animations is good. Some of them are originally made for educational purpose to teach such as chinese characters, history, math or science. Learning with pictures and stories helps learners understand the ideas and lessons, which keeps in mind longer. Even if other animations do not have educational purpose in common, animation watchers just can take advantage of animation to learn languages, especially foreign language. Learning foreign language using animation is better then using other media productions. Because voice from animations is clear, animations are full of conversations and scripts of animations are more available. usual animation running time is quite short as around 20 minutes, so learners can escape from tediousness by moving to another episode.

 Educational effect of animation is not the only benefit of high- learning. It can provide with intellectual pleasure concerning with philosophy and lessons. Some of animations tackle picky subjects such as racism, death and crime with a little help of fantasy and imagination. It also ignites consideration about virtues such as patience, tolerance and love. Although these subjects seem boring and difficult in school book, animations come to us with little tediousness. Authors can put more imaginary situations, so animations can make watchers consider these issues in more if-scenarios, which is more fun and makes a variety of thought possible. Then animations take us to a lesson in the end and conversations and argument between animation fans facilitate much understand.

 Some people say watching animation does not helpful for kids' future and watching animation is no use to adults. But animations are beneficial and can be more beneficial when used appropriately. Why female characters should be developed

 

Many people enjoy watching movies. Some movies have in them a vision or dream which becomes reality. People learn new things that they have never thought about through movies and absorb them without even realizing it. The movie is one of the most influential media. However, there are few female characters in them. This is quite awkward and there are some reasons for movies to have diverse female characters.

First, movies with various female characters are evidently much more fun than others without them. The character plays a huge role to a considerable extent in movies. However, most female characters have neither a name nor her own personality. It might sound obvious, but gender-specific views inevitably limit and weaken the messages these movies are sending. On the other hand, female character development can result in the novelty that is distinguished from traditional movies. For example, George Miller, Director of <Mad Max: Fury Road>, strengthened female subjectivity to innovate existing action movie plots. To sum up, female characters make movies interesting.

Another common reason for necessity of female character is a strong influence on society. Numerous female characters are overtly sexualized and objectified. Moreover, they are blindly obedient to male characters. These kind of fixed, submissive roles can be bad for boys and girls. They can learn gender stereotypes and internalize them. Therefore, as one of the most powerful mass media, the movie must perceive its impact and pursue a better world where men and women are equal.

Lastly, why are there few female characters even when almost half of the population are women and girls? If there were more female characters and diverse characters were available, many actresses would get an opportunity to perform a better role and not 'fight over a really crappy role in a movie.' That was one of the reasons why Reese Witherspoon started her own company. Likewise, the female audience could be far more immersed in movies than now. Filmmakers should consider it since women make up half or more than half(in Korea) of the movie audience. In short, women themselves deserve more female characters.

In conclusion, female characters have to be developed for several reasons. Basically, movies can be exciting with female characters. In addition, diversity of female characters can help children overcome traditional gender role. Also, female characters are worth much more than filmmakers think. We must recognize the unequality and keep in mind that nothing changes if we stay quiet.

 After the battle between Lee Se-dol and AlphaGo, artificial intelligence (AI) becomes the worldwide issue more than ever. As Al research is progressing rapidly, human already achieve remarkable success in Al. Although the potential benefits of Al are huge, I believe Al could be a threat to mankind.

 First of all, today's computers are smart enough. They can handle the tasks with an almost human-liked intelligence. Microsoft has developed a game that can assess player's mood by analyzing theirs expressions. Moreover, IBM's Watson (supercomputer) won Jeopardy – a quiz show that often requires contestants to interpret humorous plays on words. In addition, AlphaGo beat Lee Se-dol could be seems as the first battle between the mankind and Al and sadly, human loose the first competition.  

The second reason of Al could be the threat is that some leaders in science and technology have warmed us. Such as - Stephen Hawking said: Artificial intelligence could wipe out humanity when it gets too clever as humans will be like ants. Elon Musk also said: Artificial intelligence is our biggest existential threat. Even Bill Gates agreed with Hawking and Musk – We do need to worry about artificial intelligence. In short, such great pioneer like Hawking and Musk consider the Al as threat, Mankind has no reason to object the warning.

Especially koreans eat a lot of things at night, such as chiken, pizza, hambugger and etc. They have midnightsnack for various reasons Representatively environment and habit cause them to eat at night. In other word Night shift work environment cause them to have Midnight Snack. Also these things lead their family eat together at night. These night food culture make many health problem

 

First, eating in night may cause obesity. The foods that we eat in daytime can be digestd as our activations but eating in night time absorbs carolies in body directly because of lack of activations. Also, foods not be digested in sleeptime causes eating small in breakfast and lunch. Vicious cycle, eating small in daytime and eating a lot in nighttime, stack up much carolies in our body. As a result, carolies is stacked up in body and make much probability to be obesity.

 

 

Also, Eating in nighttime can be the causes of chronic fatigue. In our body, there is hormone called by melatonin which helps us to sleep well. Melatonin controls our eating and make us to sleep. But eating in night time represses creation of melatonin and increases secretion of hormone. So we can't sleep deep if we eat a lot in nighttime. It makes us sleeplack and finally causes chronic fatigue.

 

In conclusion, eating in night can be the causes of many health problem, such as obesity, chronic fatigue and etc. Therefore we need to pay attention to eating food at night. Suffrage is a political right for everybody in democratic nations, but turnout of young adults shows always almost the lowest in Korea. Political indifference is a warning sign in social. University students have to cast a vote to improve their political opinions, to spread political interest in their ages, and to express their hardships to politicians.

First, experiences of casting a vote would help university students set up their own standards in political issues. Casting a vote is not just an act of stamping on the paper. It includes deliberation of pledges and candidates before the casting, watching the results, and analysis of the effects of that choice. Those would be building blocks of young adults who have to make their own political decisions in future lives.

Another reason why university students have to vote is that they can arouse political interests in their ages more easily. University students gathers regularly and discuss social problems often in their campus. Those can be chances to open an agora for political debates. University students can be leaders who convince other young adults who consider the temporary holidays for elections just for their short vacation.

Finally, casting a vote can change the very political fields to work in different ways. Many of young adults in Korea are not interested in political stuffs. It is because they think that their participations do not have any approach to the politicians. But casting a vote is the expression of a citizen's opinion and it can be a suggestion of active solutions for social problems that young generations are facing.

In conclusion, university students have to participate in elections as voters for their individual development, social ethics, and solutions of their real problems. Surely, someone would not be able to get the polling space because they have to be at their field even that day for their earning. However, it is not a pressure to give up a livelihood, but an offer to get a right of young generation. Because, there is nothing to get without an effort.

Let's vote, young people.

 

Turnout of young voters is much lower than that of older voters. Reasons for young voters not voting are various. They might think voting is bothersome and doesn't make a difference, or just they are not interested in politics. But reasons people 'should' vote are also various. They are like 'voting is the important right in democratic nation,' 'voting is not only for our, but also next generation' and so on. However, young voters don't feel the necessity of voting keenly with those reasons. Then, what reasons attracts young voters?

 

First, young voting can lead to cheaper education fee. The cost of education is expensive in Korea. Especially, college tuition is heavily expensive. Students who can't afford to pay it get themselves into a debt by education mortgage even before getting a job. Many politicians pledge to reduce the college fee in each election, but nothing has changed. This is not because the government has no money, but because there's no proper policies. If the turnout of the young voters is higher and participation is more achieved, politicians surely try to make it.

 

Also, it is for young generation getting a job. The Korea youth unemployment rate in February 2016 is 12.5% and it hit a 30-year high. This means 1 out of 10 can't work. Of course, there were many election promises and policies but still 520,000 young men are looking for a job. So youth should participate in politics and watch politicians work for them as well. By doing so, they introduce a bill and make economic policies to help youth get a job. Furthermore, it can lead to economic growth.

 

There was a 20^th general election on April 13^th in Korea. According to the Central Election Management Committee, the whole turnout is 58%, which is 3.8%p higher than 19^th election. This was because the turnout of people in their twenties rose by 4.4%p, whereas people in their fifties and sixties didn't show such rise. (Turnout of those in their fifties and sixties is much higher, of course.) Some experts said that this was due to hardships that younger generation has felt and it results in the minor party winning more election than the ruling party. The more young people vote, the better place for young people will be made. Every vote counts. Let's vote.

Have you ever heard of 'Nomophobia'? the word is referred to as no-mobile-phone phobia which is the fear of being out of mobile phone contact. Today, most of people in the world use smartphones. It is making our life more convenient than ever before and it has in fact become an indispensable part of our life. However, some concerns about side effects of smartphone overuse is also gaining momentum these days. Problems that arise from smartphone addiction can be divided into 3 main categories: Health, Social life and Money.  

First of all, excessive use of smartphone can inflict serious damage to our health both physically and psychologically. Exposure to the blue light that is emitted from smartphones can destroy our eyesight and we can also suffer from back or neck pain when we hunch over our devices. Furthermore, using smartphones before bed can disrupt sleep and cause insomnia because it suppresses hormone melatonin that helps us sleep well. Smartphone overuse can also cause anxiety, depression and loneliness when people obsessed with smartphones are separated from their device. In short, spending as much time on smartphones can badly affect our physical and mental well-being of our life.

Next, smartphone addiction can also destroy our relationship in reality. It is said that social media such as Facebook or Twitter help us strengthen our personal relationships. However, if we get too obsessed with how our life looks to others through smartphones, we will have difficulty sustaining relationships with others because we may neglect our real world and focus more on our SNS-based relationship. Moreover, we get less chance of having face-to-face conversation with people in reality if we become overly attached to the digital world. this eventually makes us lose connection to the real world and depend more on the virtual reality. Thus, excessive smartphone use can be an obstacle in forming meaningful relationship with others in the real world.

 Finally, spending so much money on smartphones can also be the problem of smartphone addiction. smartphone companies are constantly working on new versions of smartphone to raise their sales and a number of people change their smartphones within a short period of time to try the latest model. If this becomes a routine, they may end up wasting a lot of money. In addition, people get overcharged when they access Internet for large amount of time and they also tend to charge their money to buy games or other application on impulse just for their pleasure. To wrap up, obsession over smartphone can lead us to unexpected budget cuts.

 

To summarize, adverse effects of smartphone overuse can be categorized into 3 types. Spending excessive amount of time on smartphones can harm our health, hinder us from having interactions with people and tempt us to spend lots of money on it. therefore, we should reduce our time spent on smartphones and pay more attention to the real world.

"Underbelly of Globalization"

 

 

 Trade barriers are becoming a redundant concept, constraint on time and distance is being conquered. Moreover, mankind reveals their goodness through extensive international assistance, and abundant cultural exchanges are contributing to the splendor of civilization. Advancement in technology, medicine, knowledge, and so much more is uncomparable to any progressive time. Arguably, we benefits from this so-called "Globalization" in many ways, even unawarely. However, there are drawbacks, shortcomings to this extremely advantageous phenomenon and those could be presented with three apparent aspects.

 A growing inequality can be one of them, and the intensified competition is deepening this injustice. Not only an economic polarization, a gap between rich and poor, but discrimination against talent of no use has been also caused by multiple shapes of competition. As social tendency rapidly swifts, requirements for capacity changes from moment to moment. Every moment welcomes each different abilities, and that makes furious competition, and that makes inequality of talent. Poor and rich both still exist, needless to say, even though we are living in this much amazingly progressed era.

 Another drawback is standardization of culture, collapse in cultural diversity. Advance means the existence of top bottom concept which implies that something has lagged behind and something is winning mainstream. This can be easily proved when we think of few examples. We can see skyscrapers in everywhere, every country without any great effort, and we know that initial high-rise was in United States. Frequency and leverage of sharing the superpowers' culture, obviously, exceed that of small and weak nations'. But we must understand that every each culture should stand even, impartially.

 Last but not least, brittleness by complexity could be a Achilles' heel of globalization. Putting it simply, what happens in one place very quickly affects everything else. A great number of elements are weaved like tapestry and this give rise to domino effect. Entanglement causes a systemic risk, and we've seen it in the financial crisis, in the pandemic flu. We couldn't decide anything unto ourselves, independently, because there would be too much factors to consider in every matters. Since this will become virulent, we have to build resilience against it.

 To conclude, we should be aware that globalization is not wholly good. There are shortcomings; Inequality with Competition, Standardization of Culture, and Brittleness by Complexity. All of this is not something could be overlooked just thanks to its merits. Then, what shall we do and what can we do? Asking us for remarkable changes, society-level changes would be unreasonable demand. Then what? We could just think about our globalized time, and we should not deem this as the affairs of another. Also, considering our future and getting ready for it can be our mission, and that's enough. Maybe, that's more than enough.

  Nowadays the reason for doing exercise seems unspecific and disappear. People
could use transportation, entrust all physical labor to machines. It sounds there's
no need anymore to do exercise which needs continuous patient. But in spite of these
superficial reasons and hard working, doing exercise will get three major benefits
to exerciser: Physical improvement, Mental health and Social benefits.

 

  First, doing exercise will be helpful for improving one's physical abilities.
Nobody could deny the fact that poeple become more muscled and have strong body
through continuous and gradual exercise. It's an invariable truth that
all living organisms get used to adapt its surrounding environment, so does
exerciser. And bacause a person is doing exercising, he or she could prevent and
avoid something specific diseases that can be occured to those who don't. So doing
exercising would give physical development and prevention of diseases to exerciser.

 

  Another major benefit is 'Secure in mental health.' There's an old maxim: 'A sound
mind in a sound body.' Although no one can be sure that this is applied to everyone,
general and common sense of view agrees with this maxim's telling. It is certain
that the person who has something dangerous diseases would feel less secure and
satisfying about life than those who exercises each day so has a strong body. It
definitely shows the mental benefits for doing exercise.

 

  Last, exerciser can be seen as a positive and attractive person by other people;
it's social benefits. Person with vigorous and valient physical body and therefore
showing energetic impression to others would appeal his or her own charming, which
makes him or her more attractive and a person with positive personality. This could be

a distinct advantage especially in personal relations such as interviewing, converstion to
others, or dealing with others. So it can be social benefits to do exercise.

  To summarize, although many people tend to forget and live without giving secound
thought about exercise, by doing exercise people could get many benefits. Three
major benefits among those helpful issues are 'development of body to strong,
being stable in psychological matters, and benefits to social reputation.
Of course exercising is time-consuming and hard to continue, but those powerful
strengths can fully compensate that little pain.

                             All We Need Is Love

 

Are you in love now? Or are you being loved? When people hear these kind of questions, most of them think of their 'partners', such as their spouses, boyfriends and girlfiends. However, a dictionary definition of love includes a variety of emotions of affection and concern for anyone, and anything. That is the reason why people say they 'love' their jobs, schools, and pets of course. And love, if it refers to all kinds of care and consideration, has always been regarded as the foremost virtue for this society, and people who are living in this society. It is true that some are arguing about whether it is really necessary for human being. But still, that humans cannot live without love is an undeniable fact, and there are three primary reasons for that.

​First, love can make people happy and enjoy thier lives. Except in the case of being stalked, no one in this world does not like to being loved. Love itself gives a great pleasure to people, since the feeling of being cared by someone is a precious emotion. Not just from being loved, but the pleasure of giving love can also be a pleasure. According to the Researchers of 'dailymail', which is the British media, discorverd that people who fall in love feel happiness, and also reduced negativity. It is because the function of prefrontal cortexof of people fell in love, which is the important part of the brain that is related with making decision, becomes less powerful. The area that deal with negativity and fear also becomes inactivated, reportedly. Furthermore, People who are truly in 'love' with their work and have so much passion for what they are doing, can still enjoy their working lives no matter how hard it is. Likewise, love is a passionate emotion that gives people happiness and helps them to keep the momentum going.

​Another reason for human being need love is that love can be the solution for this society suffering from so much mental disorders. Today, there are lots of people who have mental illnesses and it it is rising as a serious issue of this 21st century. There can be hundereds of reasons why they became so, but one of the biggest causes is the lack of love. Children who were not loved enough by thier parents, which means they lacked attraction and care from their family, are more likely to have a problem with mental illnesses than the ordinary. Students who have a traumatic experience of bullied at school, can also be regarded as victims of the lack of love. In this case the problem was that they lacked attraction of their friends. And they all are being called 'outsider' and neglected today, even though they can be much better by givining just a little attention. Love for human, is therefore necessary, not just a good-to-have.

​Finally, love can make us into being better people, and furthermore, make better lives. Love for their work makes people try harder in what they are doing and consequently, helps to improve themselves even more. Love for their pets teaches them how to care and empathize with that is non-human. Lastly, Love for somebody makes people mature, because they get to learn to be considerate of each other.

The Importance of Traveling

 

   Traveling has become essential in everyone's lives. As ways to go abroad have become much more easy and convenient over the past several decades, people have traveled at least once in their lives. Some might have traveled all around the world, and others just outside their hometown. In either case, one could say traveling takes up an important part of our lives in various ways.

   First, traveling allows a person to broaden his/her perspective in life. One gets to meet people all over the world and experience their individual cultures in person. Understanding each and every culture can help break stereotypes one may have had before visiting the country. This eventually leads to opening up one's view in general, allowing him/her to become a more generous person. To briefly mention my story, last year winter I happened to go on a tour in New York. As it turned out, it was a Chinese tour! Although the guide and a few people did speak English, I could not help but feel uncomfortable. In fact I was initially nervous and a bit scared when with New Yorkers as well. After having a lot of time to talk with both the Chinese and New Yorkers, however, I realized my stupidity. They both turned out to be sincerely kind and giving people. In the end I had the opportunity to even get to know more about both cultures and their delicious traditional food. This made me realize how narrow-minded I was and helped widen my perspective.

   Also, becoming friends with various types of people while traveling is matter-of-fact. Whether it be in exotic restaurants or even places one stays in, he/she has tons of ways to meet new people and communicate with them. This could eventually lead to better social skills and maybe even learning a new language. That was what happened to me in my Chinese tour in New York. I got to learn basic Chinese greetings and such. I still remember some of those and find them useful from time to time. After returning home one can also stay in contact with his/her worldwide friends by becoming pen pals. One might even get the chance to travel again with these newfound travel partners.

   Lastly, traveling can be therapeutic. A lot of people tend to visit other places just to relieve stress and simply relax. This makes a person happier in life and very often enhances one's self-confidence. Exotic beaches could be decent places to visit, with the calm waves and cool breeze all around. Traveling to just about any new country will be refreshing both physically and mentally. To put it in a quite extreme way, people sometimes need to escape from reality and take a break. Traveling definitely makes life better and brighter.

   To wrap up, traveling is beneficial in that it helps broaden one's perspective, allows one to meet worldwide friends, and is therapeutic. Without traveling, life would have been less exciting and less fascinating – basically less than what it is now.

Then, what  makes people be attracted to game? People play computer games for various reasons : exitemenent, social life, or money.

 

First, many people enjoy playing games just for fun. It is main purpose for many people and fundamental reason for games. Releasing stress is one of the benefits that excitement from game gives us. People can experience what  they can do in real world in games. It  makes people feel thrilled or excited. In this process, stress can be relieved. Game often makes time go fast. It  helps us spend time for cheap price when people are bored. 

 

Another reason for playing games is to make new relationship. Especailly for Korean men, it is one of the best way to be familiar with others. In research from KOCCA(Korean Creative Content  Agency), the average number of visiting Internet cafe in 2010 is 6 days per month. And about 80% of people who visit  Internet cafe, playing games is main reasons for it. It show that many people enjoy games and it can help people make familiar through sharing same hobby. Also, they can make new friends easily in games. Game is the great environment  to make new friends.   

 

Finally, for some people, earning money can be a sufficient  reason to play games. In Internet  broadcast  system such as Afreea TV, Twitch TV, playing games is one of the most popular contents. 'BJ'(people who perform internet  broadcast  system) can earn money by audience's support or advertisement for sponsor. For example, in Afreeca TV, 'star balloon' is the coin which cost 100 won for each balloon. The amount  of  balloon audience gave is tremendous. Must teenagers need plastic surgery? -plastic surgery should be banned for teenagers   Recently, many of teenagers have dreams of flipping their whole life by changing their outlooks . students think that better looking helps them to  be able to enter better university or get a better career in the future. Also, According to recent Seoul research, 54% of female and 42.5% of male students think that plastic surgery is the best way to improve their beauty. But many of the people including surgeons recommend teenagers should not do plastic surgery because of the physical, psychological and economical reasons first, It is because teenagers' bodies are still keep growing and changing. Bones keep growing until 18-21 in average and mostly it is growing until older ages. However, if teenagers do plastic surgery, they cut their skin or bones. So, because they're still keep growing, on the other hands, their bones are fixed by surgery, It can destroy body and face's shape. And even sometimes it can cause infection and even bring them on serious danger. Another common reason is because of teenagers' mind. First, that their identity is not yet fixed. Teenagers are greatly influenced by media. So their surgery has trend. For example, When drama "high-kick" was popular among teenagers, the plastic surgery to look like the main character increased. And after few months, It decreased a lot and they want to have surgeries again to be like those popular beautiful singers and actresses. What students did was just regret their past choice or do the surgery again. Lastly, minors' plastic surgery is not recommended because of financial burden. Plastic surgery costs a lot and it can over hanging the economy of their family. it already costs a lot for students' education and necessities of their lives. In fact, doing the surgery is not the necessity and must-do-thing, it just bothers the parents and family because of their greed. In conclusion, teenagers' plastic should be banned, because their body, mind, and economic capacity is not yet prepared for their own big choice. Instead, they have to find out solutions for satisfying themselves. How to Stay Cool, Calm without stress

 

Waking up early in the morning, listening to lectures, tiring schedules would be stressful to anybody. People get stress from variety of sources. If stress is accumulated, it can cause bad health and mental depression, which can also affect people's life. It would become some changes of not only to outer body but also internally. Therefore, the best way to avoid this kind of situation is to relieve stress. There are three categories of activity that could help when people are suffering from huge stress; making a hobby, reading, and talking.

 

First, a nice hobby could make people stress-free. There are a great number of things that we can do such as exercise, reading, painting and so on. Focusing on what oneself like to do, and good at can make one forget about the reality's harmful environment. However there's one thing we have to be aware of. We have to remember that the goal of using hobbies is to temporarily take away our stress, not add to it. Therefore struggling to make a hoppy is an unnecessary move.

 

Also, according to the study of England success university, reading is also the best way to reduce stress. By just reading a book for only 6 minutes, the stress declines sharply. When reading a book, apart of people who are very harsh-minded, most people would be immersed in the scene of the book. He or she would be the hero of heroin of the book and can forget about all the stress and feel great by the hormone produced, adrenaline.

 

Lastly, we might feel better if we talk with our friends at a coffee house. Spending time with friends is a good way to get everything that bothers us out of our mind. For example, if we hang out with friends when we have stress from school. We can forget all about study and classmates. However, we have to be careful. If we spend too much time with your friends, we may not be able to get a satisfactory result from our work or school.

             These days, so many people use social media. Thanks to it, people can communicate with someone on the other side of the world. Distance is no longer a factor that makes them lose contact with friends who study abroad or emigrate to other countries. However, there are also some problems of social media: users easily becoming addicted, irreversible uploaded contents, and possibility of being misused as a means of crime.

             First, it is easy to become addicted to social media. Social media allows real-time communication among anyone who uses it. Due to that characteristic, time goes so fast when people contact each other using social media. Also, it contains various contents. Sometimes, some include highly provocative contents, and a number of people are attracted by those. Thus, if one fails to control the time spent on using social media, then too much time is wasted.

             Another problem is that once the content is uploaded on social media, it is irreversible. Because of the biggest feature of social media, 'real-time communication', anything can be spread so fast since people can share it at any time. So, it is very hard to correct wrongly spread information. Usually, public opinion is formed based on gossips through social media and it leads to a severe witch-hunting.

             Finally, the possibility of social media being misused as a means of crime is the last problem. People can always be noticed what others are doing through their social media, and it is a big problem in some respects. For example, burglaries can be committed when people go on a trip. To be specific, as soon as they upload any pictures that allow others to know that their houses are vacated, some might think it is the perfect time to commit a burglary. Also, some people can suffer from stalking because anyone can get information about what they are doing in real time by searching for that person's social media. Sometimes this leads to an invasion of privacy.

 As we can call the era of SELF, today people are very interested in self-doing like self-photograph, self-nail art, self-dyeing, and so on. Among them, 'self-interior' is most popular recently. Self-interior means decorating their house or room by oneself to one's taste without professional company. In the early 2000s, the popularity of self-interior that attracted by craze of 'DIY' (Do-It-Yourself) went slow. But now a days, the popularity revives because of effect of various social change. There are three primary reasons about why people's attention to self-interior becomes so high in recent years.

 

 First, the major cause why self-interior trend spreads recently is money. Self-interior is much cheeper than requesting professional interior company. If we request interior to company, we couldn't know how much the raw materials or services fee is. However, the great advantage of self-interior is we can do this with only raw materials' fee. Even, because we can compare the price from the market directly, we can buy materials that we want more cheeper. Also 'refrom' is the most useful way to decorate house. We don't need to buy new stuff to fill the space. By recycling already existing furniture, we can save money and refresh the atmosphere of our boring house.

 

 Another reason of popularity of self-interior is growth of single-person household. These days, single-person household who invests to oneself generously is increasing. Although living in their house while short period, they want to enhance satisfaction of life. It is also one of the reason that the meaning of house changes from just shelter to symbol of one's personality. As people who live alone persue emotional stability in their house, the desire decorating house with their own style increases.

 

 Finally, effect of media encourages people to take interest in self-interior. Now a days, TV programs about self-interior like "Dignity in my room" and "I'll give old house, Give me new house" occur gradually, and blogs about that are new trend. So because people are influenced by media, self-interior became trend among the young. In addition, through on-line community, and various SNS program, we can share vast information with people in all around the world. Cram School, Not So Much Creamy.

The excitement students feel when last class's bell rings was magnificent. But nowadays, teenagers can't feel the excitement. Because they still have to go to a cram school. Cram schools are specialized schools that train students to pass the entrance examination of high schools or university. It's almost impossible to find a teenager who doesn't go to a cram school. But spending too much time in cram school is bad for teenager for three main reasons;

First, Studying in a cram school can steal self-study time from students. In cram school students take lessons that have already covered by teachers in school. Even if the cram school teaches things a head of schools curriculum, students have to take same lesson in school. Either way students have to take same class twice which seems inefficient. What students need to get a higher grades is self-study time rather repetition of hearing another person's knowledge.   

Next, going a head of school curriculum is physiologically wrong. There is a phrase written on the German school attendance notification. It says "You should aware disadvantages if your kids learn how to write before entrance into a school". Knowing human's brain develop by stages, German warns the bad impact of learning a head. Also teenagers need at least soled 8 hours of sleep to be fully functioning when they are awake. Generally Korea high school starts at 7a.m and ends at 10p.m. If they go to the cram school after or before the school, they can't secure the time to sleep.

Last but not least, teenagers need reflecting time which is hard to do when surrounded by yet another academically competitive environment. Teenagers go to the cram school to enter great college. But usually they don't know what they want to learn in the college. Without attentive reflecting time, it's easy to be swept away by what other people says. However that short teen period is a critical time to plan their life. Being overwhelmed by competitive environment like cram school will blind teenagers and make them think there is an only one goal going to the college.

There are three reasons why cram school can impact bad influence on teenagers. Cram school deprives teenagers of self-study time, ignores brain activity and interrupts self-reflection. When parents send their child to Cram school, they think they do what's best for their child. But sending child to cram school can have serious side–effects. So before consider enrolling in the cram school, parents should check how their child currently managing time and prerequisite reason for enrolling.

    The 20th century has been an era of countless wars which were mainly derived from ideological issues, It was due to these wars that coerced the world to strengthen their military power. Due to technological advancement and fluctuating international status, however, solely achieving military strength has become unneccessary. In this retrospect, instead of securing the military, ensuring sustained growth has become essential even more than fulfilling socio-economic needs. Also, while focusing on sustained growth, military security or socio-economic needs should not be neglected and should be kept in rough harmony.

    Currently, fuels and resources are at the stake of becoming deploited, and the birth rate is decreasing consistantly throughout the world. The shrunk birth rate has also made the population ratio unstable. The producing population has decreased while the consuming population has increased. As this phenomenon continues the internal domestic market will degenerate. In order to avoid any catastrophes which may occur because of this current stance, growing military strength or socio- economic needs will be with no avail. Securing sustained growth will be the solution to this problem. By investing on increasing the number and the quality of infrastructure or on incipient industries, it will stabilize nation's economy and minimalize defects which could happen from diminished producing populations as it can grow self-producing ability of a nation.  

        In addition, balance of the three feats;military, socio-economic and sustained growth is an important factor for the prosperity of a nation. In the 19th and the 20th century, balance had not been as important as it has been as it has been a state of imperialsm and  thus military had rather gained spotlight. After imperialism, ideological matters became important and due to democracy spreading, people began to concentrate on their well-being and demanded the government to focus on fulfilling their socio-ecnomic needs. Public's well-being has become a priority for the government and implemented laws regarding their demands. Recently the globalization consists a big amount in people's and the government's lives. For repuation and the happiness of a nation's citizens a country needs to accomplish all three feats centering on the newly introduced factor which is sustained growth. It is indeed hard to harmonize the new feats however it is inevitable since lacking in one feat easily leads to capsized stance in the overly competitive global community.

      Thus, sustained growth may resolve the problem of the deficient condition of the world such as the population and resources. Also, the balance will support the basic needs and rights of human. Therefore, the rough harmony of sustained growth, socio-economic needs and military should be continued.
